Tel: 020 8194 7847 / Email: info@instructortrain.co.uk

What’s involved?

The instructor course will be taught in two stages over the period of two weeks. Once you have enrolled with us, passed you DBS check and received your DVSA personal reference number we will enrol you onto week one.

  • Week one consists of 25 hours of classroom tuition and 8 hours of in car training.
  • Week two consists of 10 hours of classroom tuition and 20 hours of in car training.

To progress onto week two you are required to pass Part 1 and Part 2 of the DVSA qualification process. Part 1 is a Theory and Hazard perception test. You will sit this test after week one.

When you pass Part 1 you will be able to take the Part 2 test of your driving ability. After passing Part 2 we will enrol you on week two of your course. On completion of week two you will be able to book the Part 3 test of instructional ability, or, if you prefer, you can apply for a DVSA PDI (Potential Driving Instructor) licence. This licence allows you to teach learner drivers for reward whilst you receive additional training to ensure that you are fully prepared for Part 3.

The total charge for the course is £2,500. The amount of money you earn as a driving instructor is purely dependent on how many hours you want to teach and your hourly charge for lessons. You can earn upwards of £35,000 per annum after working a 35 hour week.

Please contact us to find out more information and to enrol on our ten day driving instructor course.
