The idea behind INSTRUCTORTRAIN was devised by three driving instructor friends with over 50 years of combined experience teaching L drivers and driving instructors. We were having a discussion about our experiences of the driving instructor industry and how it has changed during the time we have been driving instructors. More and more pupils are learning to drive on intensive courses. We had all noticed an increase in companies providing these services for learner drivers. It is a logical move for today’s L driver because we all live such busy lives and the intensive learning route is such a simple, cost effective way to pass the driving test. Why take months to learn the important skill of driving and dedicate many valuable evenings and weekends in learning to drive when the whole process can be condensed into an intensive course?

Intensive driving courses just make sense!

Why then, we thought, does the instructor training process take so long? Our experiences of learning to become an ADI (Approved Driving Instructor) were that the process can take up to 24 months before qualifying. That is a long time to wait for your new career! It was a very drawn out process and, because of this, a vast amount of PDIs (Potential Driving Instructors) don’t see it through to the end.

Many driving instructor training establishments promise ‘too good to be true’ offers for trainees. You will have seen this on their websites; Money back if you fail; money back on completion of your training; guaranteed job opportunities; … the list goes on. Read the small print carefully before you sign any contract.

  • Terms and conditions! Don’t be duped by offers that seem too good to be true. Some of the terms and conditions attached to these offers mean that it is virtually impossible to actually get your money back. Always read the terms & conditions carefully before committing to any training establishment.
  • PDIs not completing the training! A vast number of PDIs who enrol on the courses offered by these companies don’t actually complete their training. Their reasons being: that gaps between their lessons are too long; the process takes too long; or they keep having their trainers changed so there is no continuity. Many just give up. It is a sad reality and a very expensive mistake.
  • Tying you into an expensive franchise! The few PDIs that make it through the training process might find that they are tied into long term contracts that are very expensive and difficult to escape from. The promise of ‘work the hours that suit you’ is an unrealistic goal because you will need to earn hundreds of £££’s per week just to pay your franchise fee and car hire.

This is where we come in! We have designed a genuine intensive driving instructor training course. We have a dedicated training centre, all of our staff are fully committed to getting you through the training process and onto teaching learner drivers, we have close links with intensive learner driver course providers and we can offer you a genuine job on completion of your training. We will not tie you into a long term contract and, if you join us, we will not charge you a franchise fee.

That is our promise to you!
